GREEN BAY, Wis. — Somewhere along I-43 in Wisconsin on Saturday night, the Bears must have lost one of the buses in their caravan.

It was the one they’ve used at the stadium on Sundays, the one Lovie Smith speaks adoringly of, the one they got off running in the past.

Either that or someone switched out the playbook on offensive coordinator Ron Turner and he was left to wing it, literally.

The Bears came out chucking with Jay Cutler and, after just one half of football, he had conjured up images of something Bears faithful have tried to block out: Bad Rex.

That wasn’t the only disturbing event. Starting linebackers Brian Urlacher (right wrist) and Pisa Tinoisamoa (knee), tight end Desmond Clark (back) and special-teamer Trumaine McBride (knee) were knocked out, a brutal beginning after the Bears had done such a good job staying healthy through training camp and the preseason.
