Packers Offensive Line sees promise of Continuity

Unless left tackle Chad Clifton sustains a setback with his injured hamstring, it appears the Green Bay Packers will start the same offensive line for a third consecutive week — and potentially keep the group together for all four quarters.
For many teams, that development wouldn’t even bear mentioning. But it’s a significant one for the Packers, considering this line hasn’t gone three straight games without a lineup change all season and right tackle Mark Tauscher has been on a limited snap count since re-signing on Oct. 12.

Coach Mike McCarthy on Monday said Tauscher and his reconstructed knee are “hopefully ready to go a full game now.” So, if Clifton progresses as expected over the next six days, the Packers would be in position to open and close next Monday’s game against Baltimore with the same five that have started since the Nov. 22 win over San Francisco.
“That’s something that we have been challenged to have in earlier parts of the season,” McCarthy said. “If we can get those five to practice together and play together week-in and week-out, I think that will definitely give us the continuity, confidence and the production that we have had here of late.
“We’ve been very productive moving the football on offense. It starts up front, but frankly, they need to practice together and play together and I think that has been a big part of our success.” ……Full Story Here
