Family Night: Sam Shields, Brandon Underwood shine in absence of veteran cornerbacks

~If Saturday’s Family Night scrimmage showed anything of value – and that’s debatable – it was the growth of the Green Bay Packers’ young cornerbacks.

With starters Al Harris still on the physically unable to perform list while recovering from reconstructive knee surgery and Charles Woodson getting his usual scrimmage night off, opportunities were aplenty for the backups.

Second-year pro Brandon Underwood and undrafted rookie Sam Shields took advantage.

Green Bay Packers cornerback Brandon Underwood flips into the end zone after running back an interception for a touchdown during the Packers Family Night scrimmage Saturday night at Lambeau Field.

Both made Woodson-esque plays, turning interceptions into touchdowns.
