Training Camp, Day 2 Report

~The morning session of the second day of training camp promptly started at  8:45 a.m. without the misty rain that greeted everyone on Saturday. There was plenty of sun and the temperature felt warmer than the reported mid-to-upper 70s.

Let’s breakdown the morning workout:

Desmond Bishop doesn’t completely understand why he hasn’t received more opportunity when the lights are on.

His time of year: LB Desmond Bishop had a second productive day in a row, picking off a Matt Flynn pass (which wasn’t his best ever) a day after leveling rookie TE Andrew Quarless. Some people are rolling their eyes because Bishop has had outstanding camps before and hasn’t been able to translate that into playing time and regular season success.

Even Bishop joked about his reputation, “Is it August 1, yet?! There you go.”

But on a serious note, Bishop thinks he’s been doing the same thing for years and doesn’t completely understand why he hasn’t received more opportunity when the lights are on.

Coach Mike McCarthy had plenty of praise for Bishop after practice.

“I think he is even really positioning himself to take his game to the next level. We have excellent depth. We have four very good inside linebackers…… Ful article here
