~┬áPackers offensive coordinator Joe Philbin said his team’s offensive line is in a much better state than it was a year ago when the Vikings piled up 14 sacks in two meetings held three weeks apart.

“Obviously, we had a couple of injuries at that point in time,” Philbin said Thursday. “From a talent standpoint, I think we’ll be a little bit better at right tackle.

“And if [left tackle] Chad Clifton has a good week of preparation and plays like he has the last couple of weeks, we should be better at left tackle. No disrespect, but one guy [Daryn Colledge] we started [at left tackle] in the first game is really a guard. Then we played a rookie [T.J. Lang] out at left tackle the second time we played.”

Clifton is on the injury report because of a knee injury, but had full participation in Thursday’s practice. He didn’t play in either of the losses to the Vikings a year ago. Vikings right defensive end Jared Allen had 7 1/2 sacks in those two games.

Right tackle Mark Tauscher (shoulder), who also didn’t play in either of the Vikings games last year, has missed the past two games and was limited in practice Thursday. If he can’t play, first-round draft pick Bryan Bulaga will start again.

Driver, Woodson don’t practice

Receiver Donald Driver (quadriceps) did not practice for the second consecutive day, but coach Mike McCarthy expects him to practice Friday and play on Sunday. “He tells me he’s going to be ready, and I trust Donald,” McCarthy said. Cornerback Charles Woodson (toe) was excused from practice Thursday for what McCarthy called “a personal matter.” McCarthy expects him to practice Friday.

Clifton and DE Cullen Jenkins (hand) went from limited participation Wednesday to full participation Thursday. S Nick Collins (knee) and LB A.J. Hawk (groin) went from not practicing to limited participation. OL Marshall Newhouse (back) was added to the injury report after not practicing Thursday.
