~Green Bay Clay Matthews was limited in practice with a shin injury, Daryn Colledge has a back injury and Chad Clifton has a hamstring to go with the normal knee problem.

That’s the word from coach Mike McCarthy.

Also, WR Donald Driver and CB Pat Lee are out.

Here are other topics McCarthy touched on:

  • TE Andrew Quarless (shoulder) needs to practice this week to have a shot at being active. He’s competing for a spot on the 45, healthy or not.
  • He isn’t as down on WR James Jones as others are. He said Jones is the same as everyone else on offense, sometimes he plays well, sometimes he doesn’t.
  • With Pat Lee out, Jordy Nelson and Tramon Williams will be first on deck for the kickoff return spot, but there will be some others who work out.
  • He’ll wait until Saturday to decide whether to activate CB Al Harris and S Atari Bigby. Both are practicing in full and Bigby even got some reps on special teams.
  • He said this is not a trap game. He noted that last week no one thought they’d beat the Jets and now everyone thinks they’re a shoo-in to beat Dallas.
  • Rookie Bryan Bulaga will start again this week at RT and it’s “his job to keep.” Mark Tauscher practiced on a limited basis and is still working his way back from a shoulder injury.
  • He is not saving anyone for the bye. He said if Driver were able to help out this week, he would play him. He said he’s on crutches right now but expects him back after the bye.

Atari Bigby has been a full participant in practice this week, and has even gotten some reps in on special teams. He might finally be active this week.

From the locker room:

  • Colledge said he worked out some on the field and some inside and was hopeful he would return to practice Thursday. He said the back problem is a carryover from the game against the Jets. He said he didn’t even know exactly what was wrong.
  • DE Ryan Pickett said his ankle is much better and he’s hoping he’ll pass a test this week to show the coaches he’s ready to play against Dallas. He wasn’t sure if he’d be allowed to practice Thursday.
  • Harris said he was unsure whether this would be the week he’d be activated.
  • TE Tom Crabtree said he’s prepared for an increased role this week with Quarless possibly down and would like to show that he can contribute in the passing game.
